With Memorial Day just around the corner, it’s time to seriously start thinking about your dining options. Whether you’re a grill master that’s been barbecuing all weekend and wants to take a break on the holiday itself or simply aren’t game for cooking a large Memorial Day feast, why not treat yourself to a meal out? With plenty of restaurants like Applebee’s and Chick-fil-A open for Memorial Day, you can opt for a dine-in experience or pick up some takeout to take to your potluck.
Keep in mind that Memorial Day is a federal holiday, so some restaurants will be closed. But don’t worry, we’ve already done the legwork and found 26 restaurants that will be open on Memorial Day.
Restaurants Open on Memorial Day 2024
Applebee’s: Bring the cookout vibes to Applebee’s all holiday weekend long with burgers and an ice-cold Margarita (without all the prep). The restaurant will resume normal operating hours on Memorial Day.
Bahama Breeze: Enjoy Caribbean-inspired drinks, seafood, and mains all-day long at Bahama Breeze on Memorial Day. Customers can snag a family-style bundle and choose between four entrees or go in-person to enjoy food and live entertainment on the deck.
Bob Evans: Customers can feast on a breakfast spread before their evening barbecue festivities or enjoy burgers and country-fried steak throughout the day as Bob Evans restaurants will be open during regular hours on Memorial Day.
Chili’s: Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of the summer and barbecue season so it only makes sense to commemorate both with some of Chili’s iconic baby back ribs. Lucky for us, the restaurant will be operating under regular hours on Memorial Day.
Chipotle: If barbecue isn’t your thing, Chipotle will be open during normal business hours on Memorial Day.
Chick-fil-A: You may be wondering if Chick-fil-A is open on Memorial Day because the fast-food chain is closed on Sundays, but many will be happy to hear that the chicken establishment is open on Memorial Day. Although, check your local establishment for hours of operation.
Buffalo Wild Wings: To me, no barbecue is complete without a heaping plate of wings. Fortunately, Buffalo Wild Wings will be open to either dine in or to snag a family bundle of wings for your gathering. Although, store hours may vary by location so guests are encouraged to confirm holiday hours at their local restaurant before visiting.
Burger King: If you’re craving a big juicy burger on Memorial Day but don’t want to bother with the grocery shopping and grilling, you can grab one all-day long at Burger King locations. And if you’re not feeling a burger, customers can also try the brand-new Philly melt among other recent launches.
Cracker Barrel: Get the ambiance of a home-cooked meal without all of the prep work at any Cracker Barrel location, as they’re operating under normal hours during Memorial Day. It’s a great time to go, too, because the restaurant just released a plethora of new menu items just in time for the summer.
Cold Stone Creamery: Ice cream is a great way to end (or start) a Memorial Day celebration. All Cold Stone Creamery locations will be open throughout the weekend for all of the cones, shakes, and ice cream cakes that your heart desires.
Dairy Queen: Dairy Queen will be open under normal operating hours, which is great because you can not only get burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and other cookout-type menu items, but as well as ice-cold sundaes and blizzards.
Denny's: Denny’s slogan is “always open” so you can count that all locations will be open on Memorial Day.
Dunkin’ Donuts: If you need a jolt of energy to get the day started (or an afternoon pick-me-up), then you’ll be happy to know that Dunkin’ Donuts locations will be open on Memorial Day under typical business hours.
Golden Corral: For those that want a bit of everything this Memorial Day, the buffet will be open on Memorial Day, but for exact hours, call your local Golden Corral.
IHOP: Expect all locations to be open, but you should call your local IHOP as full hours of operation may vary.
McDonald’s: All locations will be open on Memorial Day which gives customers a great opportunity to try the fast food chain’s latest McFlurry: the Grandma McFlurry.
Olive Garden: If pasta is sounding better than a burger on Mondaythe italian chain will be open
Pizza Hut: If you run out of time to cook something for your potluck, you can never go wrong with bringing a few pizzas to your gathering. Fortunately you’ll have that option as Pizza Hut will have normal operating hours on Memorial Day.
Popeyes: The cajun-style fast food chain will be open under normal business hours on Memorial Day, which means customers can celebrate the day southern-style with biscuits, chicken, and a whole lot of gravy.
Ruby Tuesday: If you’re not up for all that goes into preparing a Memorial Day feast with all of the fixings—we’re talking about ribs, burgers, sides, and desserts—streamline your entire meal with Ruby Tuesday’s plethora of barbecue options.
TGI Fridays: Not only will all TGI Fridays be open on Memorial Day, but the holiday also falls on the restaurant’s 50 cent wing promotion deal that happens every Monday from 5 P.M. until close.
Sonic: Customers will be able to buy a hot dog or slushy Sonic as most locations will be open and operating under normal business hours. If you’re unsure, check the SONIC Mobile App or call ahead to confirm that the store is open before visiting.
Subway: Expect most locations to be open, but as Subway locations are individually franchised and operated, hours may vary. You should call your local restaurant for exact hours and information.
Starbucks: If you need your caffeine-fix before going all-in on grill master mode all Starbucks locations will be open during normal business hours on Memorial Day.
Waffle House: If there’s one restaurant that you can count on to be open year-round 24/7, it’s Waffle House. There’s really never a bad time for a waffle, so if you’re looking for a cozy meal on Monday, be sure to head to your local Waffle House.
Wendy's: The fast food chain Wendy’s will have their char-grilled burgers available for both drive through and sit-in all day on Memorial Day.
