The tribes pick their most talented and beautiful women to make love with them, a search for that distinctive indigenous young lady who is knowledgeable of her native culture and wisdom through a pageantry of Mindanaoan myths and legends. These gorgeous women will also join the parade
and shower smiles.

Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan

This street parade is a must-see in the festival. with the city's major thoroughfares closed off to traffic for the entire event. This colorful parade features graceful dancers decked in splendid, colorful costumes and dancing to the beat of ethnic-inspired music.

Pamulak sa Kadalanan

brings parades to a whole new level, introducing a colorful parade of majestic floral floats that offer a wide range of stunning designs and intricate craftsmanship. The event was designed to showcase the beautiful flowers and abundant vegetation grown across the city.

Pahiyas Festival (Lucban, Quezon)

It is gaining popularity not just from the town folks of Quezon, but even residents from the metropolitan cities, find their way to join the colorful feast celebrated every 15th of May. The celebration is in honor of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers. The farmers of Lucban, Quezon express their thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of colorful rice wafers, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.

Pahiyas Festival

It is an ancient celebration dating back to the 16th century. Legends have it that San Isidro Labrador magically plowed the field every time he went out of the church. This story was passed on by the Spaniards to the Filipinos during the colonial period.

Most common is this dance depicts the hunting ritual performed before a tribal war. The tribe's men would go out and look up and watch for the scared Idaw bird. Which is said to lead the tribe to victory.

You can see in the dance how the women will take the bamboo baskets in a shaking fashion like drying the rice, while the men are going in circles in background like they are toiling the land.

Maglalatik

Originally performed in Laguna as a mock-war dance that demonstrates a fight between the Moros and the Christians over the prized latik or coconut meat during the Spanish rule, this dance is also shown to pay tribute to the town's patron saint, San Isidro, Labrador.
