The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 trailer has arrived, and it’s so packed full of incredible drama and jaw-dropping moments, that we need a breakdown of everything to fully digest it. Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Jennifer Pedranti are all back for another bite of the orange. This time round, they’ve got full-time newbie Katie Ginella to contend with, as well as the return of OG Vicki Gunvalson in a “friend of” role, and Alexis Bellino, who is now dating John Janssen. It all reads mess, and that’s exactly what the majority of Bravo viewers want from their Real Housewives.

Just take a look the trailer above before we delve in. There’s so much going on. We may now be 18 seasons deep into RHOC, but it shows no signs of slowing down. The friendships and relationships are real in Orange County. That’s what makes the drama so raw and compelling. It’s almost difficult to know where to start. But, with Shannon’s challenges beginning before cameras even picked up, that might be the best place.
Shannon’s DUI causes Tres Amigas friction
In late 2023, Shannon was sentenced to three years probation after a DUI and hit-and-run arrest. So, coming into RHOC Season 18, you’d be forgiven for thinking she may not be drinking. Turns out that this isn’t the case. Shannon decided not to attend rehab, and is still knocking back the alcohol.
“Shannon is not taking accountability for what she did,” Tamra says. “You decided to drive your car into a house drunk,” she matter-of-factly states in another scene. And when Shannon tells her she needs to “stop,” Tamra asks what exactly she should stop: “uncovering your bullsh*t?”
We know that Vicki has fallen on the side of Shannon when it comes to this Tres Amigas fallout. Could Tamra’s buddy and podcast co-host Teddi Mellencamp have helped her make her decision? “Welcome Housewives, and Vicki,” she jabs in the trailer’s opening scene. Vicki’s not gonna take that one lying down…
Alexis returns and gushes about “Johnny,” much to Shannon’s disgust
When Alexis received a ring from “Johnny,” the reality TV world was shook. Were they really engaged already? Not quite, but Alexis does seem to think marriage is on the cards for her and John in the near-future. Gina asks her outright, and we caught that subtle nod.
“Does she wanna be me?” Shannon asks in a separate scene, while Alexis laughs off the question in confessional, wagging an incredibly-manicured finger for effect.
Later in the teaser, Shannon is speaking to Jennifer. “You have no idea about John Janssen you have no idea,” she says. While we all wait to find out exactly what she’s trying to say, Alexis seems to be warning Katie that if something gets out, “it will ruin her life.” That has to be about Shannon, right? That’s what the trailer’s editors want us to think, as we see her sobbing in the next scene.
“He’s a monster,” Shannon cries. “She is such a piece of sh*t,” Alexis says in another. Oh boy, this is gonna be a wild ride.
Ryan’s world is rocked, and Tamra’s ready to talk about it
In recent weeks, Jennifer’s man Ryan was implicated in a $15 million gambling and theft scandal. While RHOC Season 18 cameras had gone down by this point, they went right back up. And we thank the producers for it. A huge chunk of the trailer is dedicated to the ramifications of the headlines, and Tamra is ready to hold Ryan’s feet to the flames.
“How’s the FBI gunning for you?” Tamra asks. Her husband Eddie is right there to pull her out of the conversation, but we know how Tamra works. She’s not going to let this one go. After Season 17, in which she was slammed for being so judgmental about Ryan, she may now feel a sense of vindication.
Despite it all, Jennifer is standing by Ryan. Maybe that’s because they had just gotten engaged, or she knows something we don’t. Either way, it’s going to be an uphill battle for the pair.
Newbie Katie takes on Heather
When newbies join a franchise like The Real Housewives of Orange County, they have to make an impression. Otherwise, they could be tossed out just as quickly as they were welcomed in. Katie apparently got this memo, because she’s going toe-to-toe with Mrs. Dubrow.
Chatting with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Sutton Stracke, it’s clear Katie feels snubbed by Heather. So, it’s unsurprising when we see the pair locked in a heated disagreement in the next scene.
“Heather, you lied,” Katie claims. “Stop saying the word ‘lie,'” Heather hits back. “I can see straight through her,” Katie says in confessional, lashing out once more. Exactly what the meat around the bones of this drama is remains to be seen…
Everything else in the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 trailer
Elsewhere in the trailer, we see Gina struggling at home and fighting with Travis; Emily accusing Heather of only ever looking at her as “the big girl,” and of course, a whole lot of fun. Because let’s face it, it can’t just be drama all the time.
We’ve also got three cast trips to look forward to, with the RHOC ladies hitting Big Bear, Sonoma, and London. In England’s capital, we know Tamra and Shannon are going to get into it, after an audio leak.
This season is going to be one for the books. July can’t come soon enough.
