EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital in Evansville.

The hit-and-run happened back on April 26 on the Lloyd Expressway at St. Joseph Avenue.

In that incident, a motorcyclist was hit by a SUV and taken to the hospital for treatment. A witness said the SUV rear-ended the motorcycle, but that the driver got out and apologized before fleeing the scene.

On Wednesday, police officers say they were called to Bally's in Evansville where the SUV involved in the hit-and-run was reportedly found. As we reported, police arrested an unrelated individual on gun and drug charges.

Due to that run, Bally's was made aware that officers were trying to find 33-year-old Caran Sublett in connection to the hit-and-run.

On Thursday, Bally's Security called into Central Dispatch to let officers know that Sublett was on the property.

EPD says Sublett initially claimed that she wasn't driving at the time of the hit-and-run, but later admitted that she fled the scene of the crash because she "was scared."

During a search, police say they found some meth in Sublett's pocket, along with a metal marijuana pipe.

Sublett was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges for drugs, leaving the scene of a crash, and a warrant out of Dubois County.
