Hey there! So, junk journaling is this amazing, super fun way to capture your memories and let your creativity flow freely. If you’re just starting out or feeling a bit stuck, no worries at all! There is a whole bunch of fantastic junk journal YouTube channels waiting to give you that spark of inspiration. For me, it’s all about finding content providers that have that perfect mix of authenticity and humility. You know, those creators with this genuine, down-to-earth vibe that you can’t help but love. Of course, having interesting and informative content is super important too, but what keeps me returning for more is their unique personalities. So, without further ado, here are a few of the channels I return to again and again:
Johanna Clough – Johanna’s channel is a treasure trove of junk journaling tips and tutorials. I think of her as the “Queen of Junk Journaling” but she could not be more humble. She has a genuine and authentic personality, contributing to her popularity as aYouTuberwith over 241,000 subscribers. She is known for her in-depth junk journaling tutorials, flip-throughs, and journal-with-me videos, as well as herEtsyshop, Little Bindy, where she sells beautiful, one-of-a-kind handmade journals and her own digital downloads. Johanna’s videos are clear and easy to follow, making them great for beginners and experienced crafters alike. Her channel has more than 22 million views and 396 videos. She is always making something special and her journals are full of beautiful ephemera and embellishments. Paper Terrace – If you’re looking for inspiration and ideas on being creative, you should definitely check out thePaper Terrace YouTubechannel.Jessica Huffman, the creator, has a laid-back vibe and shares her creative ideas for junk journaling. Her videos are full of inspiration and ideas that will help you unleash your creativity. Shehas aPatreonpage where fans can support the channel and get access to exclusive content and experiences. Patrons get monthly mail and other perks, although spaces may be limited. She is well-known for her dedication to her Patreon Members and shares her ideas for the Penpal packs and ephemera she creates for her patrons. She recently launched her Paper Terrace website and celebrated more than 70k subscribers. With more than 1,618 videos, the Paper Terrace channel is an excellent resource for anyone who loves crafting and journaling.
Nik the Booksmith – has been an incredible source of inspiration and knowledge for me. As a true Booksmith of the highest caliber, she consistently shares fascinating projects and imparts her wisdom as a thorough and skilled teacher. One technique that has truly captivated me is the Oxford Hallow, which I discovered through Nik’s guidance. Additionally, her tutorial on eco-printing is nothing short of amazing. With a deep appreciation for her channel, I must say that her Craft Time Mystery series holds a special place in my heart. Notably, her video titled “How to Make a Junk Journal” has garnered an impressive 1.7 million views, a testament to the impact she has made. With a vast collection of 562 videos on her channel, there is an abundance of valuable lessons and creative insights waiting to be explored.
Saacibo – Dragana’s channel is a newly discovered treat for me. She has a wide variety of arts and crafts that she loves including junk journals, drawing, painting, mixed media, textile art, paper and fabric collages, creative sewing, traditional crafts and digital paper designs to name a few. She shares finished artworks, creative processes, tutorials, and how-to’s on her channel and has some very unique and inspiring projects. She also has a website, Saacibo, with tutorials, freebies, and a blog.
SevenPlaza – Along with being a junk journal maker, Margreth is a vintage paper lover and she often has videos of her thrift and vintage finds. In addition to collecting vintage ephemera, she also has tutorials on how to make your own vintage-style ephemera. She participates in “The 100 Day Project” where she posts a video a day for 100 days. She has a wide variety of videos, from flip-throughs of her own journals to tutorials on specific techniques. She also has an Instagram shop @sevenplaza.curiosa where she sells her creations, vintage books, paper-related items, and sometimes other treasures.
Shabbydabbydoodah – Tina is the “Queen of Shabby Chic” style. Not only does she possess an incredible personality, but her self-deprecating humor will undoubtedly win you over. When you step into her world, get ready for a delightful visit and some fun creating. She has an ongoing series of mass-making sessions where she shares her processes for mass-making different kinds of ephemera. Her channel is a great resource for anyone who loves vintage and shabby chic styles. Her journals are chock full of shabby ephemera and embellishments, and her tutorials are always fun and inspiring. To further indulge your passion for all things shabby chic, she runs an Etsy shop and has recently launched her very own website, aptly named Shabbydabbydoodah. Here, you can explore and acquire her digital downloads, junk journals, and a plethora of ephemeral wonders.
Seapanda Crafts – Seapanda Crafts is a popular YouTube channel dedicated to crafts and DIY projects. The channel offers a wide range of tutorials and inspiration for craft enthusiasts of all skill levels. With clear instructions and a friendly approach, Seapanda covers various crafting techniques, from junk journals to paper crafts to home decor and budget-friendly handmade gifts. She also has quite a few haul videos from the dollar store and now that she is living in Japan, from Daiso. She also regularly posts junk journal with me videos. She has new videos posted every week on hauls, crafts, and journals.
Crafty by Toni – Crafty by Toni is a treasure trove for craft enthusiasts and another newly-discovered channel for me. Toni’s channel offers diverse tutorials and inspiration for various crafts, from paper crafts to upcycling projects. She excels at breaking down complex projects into accessible steps, catering to beginners and experienced crafters alike. With an emphasis on affordable materials and clever hacks, Crafty by Toni empowers viewers to create stunning crafts without breaking the bank. Toni’s passion shines through in her videos, as she shares her creativity and encourages artistic exploration.
Sunset Crafts & More – Maggie’s channel has quickly become a valuable addition to the crafting community. With her pleasant demeanor and enjoyable presence, Maggie captivates viewers with a variety of engaging “craft with me” and haul videos. She also showcases her creativity through her Etsy shop, where she releases charming dangle collections designed for glue bottle toppers. Despite being a newer channel, Maggie has already gathered an impressive 2.58k subscribers and shared 88 videos in less than a year.
